World Match Play Table
What’s the difference ?
The table is the same type that is used in World Championship Snooker Matches.
This table is Shaun Murphy’s ( former World Champion 2005) personal property but he has kindly allowed his fellow members the use of his table when not using it for practice sessions.
How the match play table differs is that the table is of the finest quality made by craftsmen. All the components are precision made.
It’s Slate bed is warmed by several electric heaters mounted underneath the table.
The nap of the cloth is such that it is super fine and the ball runs faster. The cloth is changed much more regular than normal.
The table is lit by special lights housed in the ceiling to give a natural brightness so that even a World Championship Final could be played on it.
Even the Black positional dots are removed from the table in case they affect the run of the ball.
Our other Snooker Tables
The 2 other full size snooker tables are equally maintained in 1st class condition.
Each of these tables are lit overhead to give unobstructed visibility.
(Non of those unsightly overhead box type hanging lights in this club)
